Point In Fandom Taken From: A point after his wife has died and his children are in good hands.
Brief History: As a passionate soul who wanted nothing more than to serve his country, Michael Garibaldi was born in what would be called our future. Living in a time of unease and strange events, he joined up with Earthforce, the combined military force of the time, and quickly became a sergeant in the ranks, leading and following as was his want. His gruff manner, easy smile, and quick mind made him a man who, when he kept his temper, was good in any fight. He loved the force, but it did not love him, and a series of incidents led to him leaving it behind, along with the woman he most loved. Despite that, he had made some good friends while in the Force, and they would come back to him along his life.
He drifted for some time, helping people when he could, finding and losing love, and not really have a purpose until he was contacted by an old friend who he'd served with, Jeffrey Sinclair. The man had just taken over leadership of Babylon 5, and he offered Michael a reinstatement and the job of security chief for B5. Michael, suddenly having a purpose again, said yes. He found, there, a place he could make his own. He built a powerful security force, one that would be the core of B5's forces for the years to come, and they were a doozy
The next five years, especially, were insane, involving wars, aliens, secrets, mindrape, violence of every kind, and betrayals. He lived a life few others could dream, first as the security chief, and later as the Head of personal security for the head of the new Interstellar Alliance. He fought against the Shadows, and protected people all his days. He ended up a legend, but despite that, truly wanted nothing more than a good life, and a simple one. Seemingly a gruff man, and a flirt, Michael is an emotional man at his core, and wishes for peace in that side of his life as well
All he wants is peace and quiet.
And maybe a woman or three.
And good food.
And possibly a motorcycle.
...yes.
Personality: Michael enjoys walking among every day people, loathing politicians and anyone who uses others or puts themselves above others. He likes watching cartoons, calling it his second most favorite thing, ever. What his first most favorite thing is, well, that is simple; sex. Lots of sex. Sex of all kinds with women. Yes.
When not doing those two things, he enjoys working on projects with his hands, such as when he built a motorcycle with Lennier. Meeting new people and doing things with new friends also ranks up there in his likes and hobbies.
Though he at times seems almost strange in his pursuit of women, it's mostly because he has liked, much of his life, flirting almost more than sex. Though, these days, he is happier to have the sex, too. Women, ones who don't attack him, are high on his list, though he likes a challenge now and then too. Due to some issues with alcohol, Michael wont drink it, but he will consume almost anything else food or drink related.
He is an odd man and believes that love is real, human greed is strong, and hope is powerful, with light as the center of it all. After the wars, and the experiences he had, he has come to see and believe that dark and shadow exist everywhere. Sometimes they are just dark and shadows, and sometimes they are not. He also knows that anyone can change, for better or worse, and that relaxation and seizing the chance to do it are essential to life.
He hates, absolutely hates, darkness, people who take advantage of others, or whom hurt others casually, and bureaucrats, politicians, lawyers, and other nasty life forms. His greatest fear and dislike is feeling that he's failed those he cares about, or feeling out of control.
Garibaldi is bouncy, belligerent when necessary, honest, protective, lusty, smarter than he seems, and endlessly loyal.
